C2 District 9 recap October 29, 2013

Hershey extended the longest winning streak in C2 District 9 this week by beating St. Patrick's, 25-14. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.

Cambridge led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on Dundy County-Stratton. Tj Gregory threw for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 66 yards in the win.

The Trojans' dynamic duo of Gregory and Brandon Andrews proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jake Witte helped Cambridge's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 78 yards.

Witte made the biggest impact on defense this week as Cambridge beat Dundy County-Stratton. The 5-foot-11 senior nabbed 2 interceptions.

He went 15-25 with 2 interceptions.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Josh Graves' team's Taylor Kubik and Witte have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Kubik has thrown for 713 yards this season, while Witte has 15 catches for 341 yards. Gaige Marshall from Hershey leads the league in rushing with 1,074 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Trojans' Witte goes up against the Irish's Drew McClellen.

Next week's game between Cambridge and St. Patrick's will feature an aerial matchup as Kubik tests his arm against McClellen's defensive ability.

An important game coming up in C2 District 9 this week will be when Kevin Dodson's team takes on the Trojans. The Irish are currently in second, while Cambridge is in third.
