The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets are taking a road trip to face off against the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson-Morgan will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Jefferson-Morgan will bounce into Monday's match after beating Brownsville, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Rockets put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 14-2 win on Thursday. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.
Dayten Marion made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

In other batting news, Jaymison Robinson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Ellsworth, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Jefferson-Morgan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Chartiers-Houston came up short against Fort Cherry on Wednesday, falling 19-3. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chartiers-Houston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justus Buckingham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
Jefferson-Morgan pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Chartiers-Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jefferson-Morgan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Chartiers-Houston struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jefferson-Morgan couldn't quite get it done against Chartiers-Houston in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 as they fell 8-3. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
