The Lincoln Prep Lightning will venture away from home to face off against the North Valley Christian Academy Lions at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. North Valley Christian Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln Prep, who comes in off a win.
Lincoln Prep will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Miami on Friday. Lincoln Prep's pitcher stepped up to hand Miami a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Lightning's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Finn Dilley was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lincoln Prep is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-4-1 otherwise. Dilley was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Cash Luce was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Karson Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Lincoln Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami only posted an OBP of .100.
Meanwhile, North Valley Christian Academy started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Arizona Lutheran Academy. They lost 12-5 to the Coyotes on Monday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Like Lincoln Prep, North Valley Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Brayden Collins. He struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). Collins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
Collins wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sam Primack, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Primack also put up a home run, which was his first of the season.
North Valley Christian Academy's record is now 2-11-1. As for Lincoln Prep, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5-1 record.
Lincoln Prep might still be hurting after the 11-4 defeat they got from North Valley Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Lincoln Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
