Beth Tfiloh falls to Concordia Prep in first game of season

Beth Tfiloh had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. Their rough 11-4 defeat to the Concordia Prep Saints on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Beth Tfiloh of the 7-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

For Concordia Prep's part, Caleb Couser and Jonathan Couser made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Couser struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Couser tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also didn't allow any walks). At the plate, Couser scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4, while Couser fired off two home runs, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 3-for-4. Couser is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Carter Milam was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Concordia Prep now has a winning record of 2-1-1.
