Softball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short

After flying high against Berkeley last Friday, Foothill came back down to earth. The Foothill Falcons fell just short of the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Foothill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Novitske, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Naima Braham also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2-1. As for Bishop O'Dowd, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Foothill Falcons duke it out with American Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Foothill's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so American's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they will welcome Las Lomas at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Bishop O'Dowd has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
