Volleyball Game Preview: Fishers Tigers vs. Avon Orioles

Fishers is a perfect 4-0 against Avon since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will host the Orioles at 7:00 p.m. Fishers is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Fishers is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Franklin Central, who was ranked fifth at the time (Fishers was ranked second). The Tigers came out on top against the Flashes by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

While Fishers might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Franklin Central scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Avon was able to grind out a solid win over Pike on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Orioles.

The victory didn't come easy: Pike scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 27-25, 13-25, 25-18.

Fishers' win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-2. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.

Fishers beat Avon 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Orioles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
