Basketball Recap: Howland Comes Up Short

Howland lost against Chaney back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers fell 46-37 to the Cowboys. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Cowboys are ranked second).

Despite the loss, Howland still got an impressive performance from Demetri Gentis, who posted ten points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Bubon, who scored six points.

Chaney's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allen Hill, who put up 14 points. Asuante Mickel was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Howland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Chaney, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Howland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-37 victory against LaBrae on the 13th. Chaney will take on East in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
