Baseball Recap: Wright Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous five matchup, Wright brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Northwood Evergreens on Monday. The Red Devils not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 20, 2025 (when they won 15-8).

Ethan Gallo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Osterman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. Brendan McCullough was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Wright lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Wright's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Wright will head out to challenge Marquette at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redmen have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Northwood, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Webster at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
