Recap: Cummings Cavaliers vs. Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers
This season hasn't been kind to the Cummings Cavaliers, who are still winless after their 12th game. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bartlett Yancey on Tuesday. Cummings has not had much luck with Bartlett Yancey recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bartlett Yancey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexis Farrish, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Farrish pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jazmyne Henderson, who scored 13 points along with six steals.
Cummings' loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Bartlett Yancey, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cummings won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Moore at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. North Moore is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Bartlett Yancey, they will be playing at home against Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chatham Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
