Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sidney walked away with it. They managed a 28-24 victory over the Lakeview Vikings on Friday. The win was just business as usual for the Red Raiders, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Sidney's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Zech Roggasch, Keian Kaiser, and Kale Kaiser, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Lakeview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylin Viergutz, who threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Blake Rathbone helped Viergutz out on the ground, picking up 111 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Sidney's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Lakeview, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.

Sidney will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wahoo at 10:15 a.m. on the 25th. The Red Raiders will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Lakeview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
