Baseball Recap: Newman International Academy Triumphs

While Newman International Academy's win against Harmony School of Innovation Fort Worth wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors skirted past the Tigers 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-2 back in March.

Rey Galvan and Noah Palmer did most of the damage at the plate: Galvan scored two runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-1, while Palmer went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Galvan has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Dylan Turner was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases.

Newman International Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Harmony School of Innovation Fort Worth, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Newman International Academy will head out to square off against International Leadership of Texas Keller at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. Harmony School of Innovation Fort Worth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
