Softball Recap: Hondo Comes Up Short

After flying high against Crystal City last Tuesday, Hondo came back down to earth. Hondo lost 13-3 to the Lytle Pirates on Friday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Hondo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kristyn Ybarra, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Hondo's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Lytle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hondo is set to take on their familiar foe Natalia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lytle will face off against rival Crystal City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
