The Kaiser Cats will challenge the King Wolves at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Kaiser managed to slip by Northview the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Kaiser came up short against Northview on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Cats were not able to get on the board.
Kaiser saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alberto Arteaga, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Jaidyn Brooks also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Meanwhile, King entered their tilt with Poly on Tuesday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 7-3. While the Wolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Isaac Sanchez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Sanchez was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayden Chavez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Adan Diaz, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
King was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poly only posted a batting average of .222.
King pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kaiser, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
