Softball Game Preview: Skyview Falcons vs. Gallatin Raptors

The Skyview Falcons will square off against the Gallatin Raptors at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Skyview has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Skyview after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Billings Senior, falling 17-2. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Skyview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruby Sheridan, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Sheridan also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Gallatin had to kick off their season on the road last Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Butte by a score of 11-7.

Parker Stevens was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Kelly Coon was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

Skyview's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Gallatin, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Skyview might still be hurting after the 26-11 loss they got from Gallatin in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
