Anderson County posted their closest victory since April 11th on Sunday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Gibbs Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Mavericks: when they faced off against the Eagles on Friday, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.
The team relied heavily on Reese Young, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jeremiah Owens was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Anderson County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-18 record this season.
