Baseball Recap: Roxana Comes Up Short

Roxana suffered their closest loss since April 7th on Friday. They fell just short of the Jersey Panthers by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in March.

Dalton Carriker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Roxana's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8-1. As for Jersey, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.

Coming up, Roxana will look to defend their home field on Monday against Salem at 3:45 p.m. As for Jersey, they will face off against Mascoutah at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
