Baseball Recap: Hart Takes a Loss

Hart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Ranch Wildcats. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Hart got a good showing from Cayden Kollasch, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Kollasch has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hart saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Rhodes, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Hart's record now sits at 10-14-1. As for West Ranch, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season.

While Hart had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
