Baseball Game Preview: Crest Lancers vs. Olpe Eagles

The Crest Lancers will venture away from home to square off against the Olpe Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crest knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Olpe likes a good challenge.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Crest and Southeast have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. Crest blew past Southeast 13-3. Crest might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Henry White, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Drake Weir was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

White wasn't the only one making solid contact: Crest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Olpe took on West Franklin on Monday. The Eagles fell 6-2 to the Falcons. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Crest's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Olpe, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Crest took their victory against Olpe in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
