Volleyball Game Preview: Bayside Marlins vs. First Colonial Patriots

Bayside hasn't had much luck against First Colonial recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m.

On Thursday, Bayside didn't have quite enough to beat Landstown and fell 3-2. While the Marlins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.

Bayside started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-21, 15-13.

Meanwhile, First Colonial entered their tilt with Salem on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Sundevils with a sharp 3-0 win.

First Colonial walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-18, 25-16.

First Colonial's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Bayside, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Bayside suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to First Colonial in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Marlins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
