Preview: Pequot Lakes Patriots vs. Pine River-Backus Tigers
The Pequot Lakes Patriots's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Pine River-Backus Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Park Rapids scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Pequot Lakes still came out on top. Pequot Lakes walked away with a 73-61 victory over Park Rapids. Pequot Lakes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, even though Kelliher/Northome scored an imposing 73 points on Friday, Pine River-Backus still came out on top. Pine River-Backus pulled ahead with a 74-73 photo finish over Kelliher/Northome. The win was just what Pine River-Backus needed coming off of a 83-41 defeat in their prior matchup.
Pequot Lakes' win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Pine River-Backus, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Pequot Lakes took their win against Pine River-Backus when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 70-45. Will Pequot Lakes repeat their success, or does Pine River-Backus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
