Elkhart dropped down to 14-5 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Penn Kingsmen, falling 13-3. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Kingsmen when the teams met back in June of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Bailey Harris-Rogers made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
As for Penn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games.
On Penn's side, they got a great performance from Caitlyn Denny as she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Denny has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Easton Masten was incredible, firing off three home runs and eight RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Logan Rumble, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
While Elkhart had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
