Baseball Recap: Seabreeze Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Seabreeze rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Belleview Rattlers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sandcrabs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

Tommy Hayes tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Seabreeze let Austin Upchurch and Merrick Campbell run wild. Upchurch went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Campbell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. That's the most RBI Upchurch has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jacob McKinnon, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

The win made it two in a row for Seabreeze and bumps their season record up to 11-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Belleview, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

As of now, neither Seabreeze nor the Rattlers have any future games scheduled.
