Volleyball Recap: East Carteret Falls to Swansboro in First Game of Season

East Carteret had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Swansboro Pirates, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Mariners in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost seven in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-7, 25-16.

Skyler Bordeaux paced East Carteret's offense, picking up four kills. Bordeaux got some help from Kolby Piner and her 16 assists.

East Carteret has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against West Carteret on the 12th. As for Swansboro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against White Oak on the 12th.
