Basketball Recap: Shawnee Mission Northwest Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission Northwest suffered their biggest defeat since February 2nd on Tuesday. They came up short against the Washburn Rural Blues, falling 59-38. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Blues: they've now lost four in a row.

Having lost for the first time this season, Shawnee Mission Northwest fell to 2-1. As for Washburn Rural, their win bumped their record up to 3-0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shawnee Mission Northwest will head out to face off against Olathe East on Friday. Olathe East has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Washburn Rural, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Olathe North at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
