Recap: Marion Bulldogs vs. Randolph Ro-Hawks
The Marion Bulldogs can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They really took it to Randolph for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-39 win on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Marion has posted since December 28, 2023.
Marion was led to victory by Richard Rayos and Braeden Fleming. Rayos scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Fleming scored 20 points along with two steals. Fleming has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Travis Randle, who scored eight points.
Marion is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Randolph, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion on the road again on Friday and play against Cole at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Cole is on a six-game streak of home wins, Marion a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Randolph, they will head out on the road to square off against Nixon-Smiley at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Nixon-Smiley is ranked 1104th, while Randolph is ranked 1123rd).
