Preview: Winfield vs. Duchesne
On Friday Winfield take on Duchesne at 7:00 PM. Winfield have kept their last 3 contests to within three points or fewer, so Duchesne should be prepared for a fight.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Winfield ultimately got the result it was hoping for last Friday. They dodged a bullet, finishing off Warrenton 43-42. Among those leading the charge for Winfield was senior Collin Sutton, who rushed for 241 yards and 4 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Sutton's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past seven games.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Duchesne, and their match last Friday only extended their streak of losses to six. They were given a punishing 3-46 defeat at the hands of Living Word Christian. Duchesne were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-32.
Winfield's win lifted them to 5-2 while Duchesne's loss dropped them down to 1-6. We'll find out if Winfield can add another positive mark to their record or if Duchesne can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Winfield's step.
