Soccer Recap: Stoughton Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Stoughton had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Their defense stepped up to hand the Evansville Blue Devils a 1-0 shutout. The game was the first time Stoughton have beaten Evansville on their pitch since October 2, 2015.

Evansville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Stoughton wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 6-0 loss against Sauk Prairie on the 2nd. As for Evansville, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Lakeside Lutheran on the 2nd.
