Softball Recap: Granger Lancers vs. West Jordan Jaguars

Granger had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-16 to make it five. They came up short against the West Jordan Jaguars, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-6 back in March.

As for West Jordan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games.

For West Jordan's part, Grace Mauga made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Mauga was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Andrea Tagovailoa was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Kaylie Taylor also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granger will square off against Cottonwood at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Jordan, they will challenge Fremont at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Silverwolves will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight.
