Softball Recap: Spring Valley Wins Going Away Against Sierra Vista

Spring Valley hadn't done well against Sierra Vista recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 22-5 margin over the Mountain Lions. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

Isabella Lenahan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Spring Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.

Spring Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra Vista, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8.

Coming up, Spring Valley will challenge Bishop Gorman at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sierra Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
