It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Emery had no problem doing just that on Friday. They never let the South Summit Wildcats get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-4 on Thursday.
Not much got past Kallee Lake, who gave up just seven hits to keep South Summit off the board.
On the hitting side, Elli Stoker was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. TaiLynn Minchey was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.
Emery is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for South Summit, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-13 record.
As of now, neither Emery nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
