Baseball Game Preview: J.H. Rose Rampants vs. D.H. Conley Vikings

J.H. Rose has won seven straight games at home, while D.H. Conley has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Rampants will welcome the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (J.H. Rose 3.1, D.H. Conley 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

J.H. Rose proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out New Bern 5-4.

J.H. Rose let Parker Watson and Justin Grimes run wild. Watson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Grimes scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Watson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Simmons, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, D.H. Conley won against West Carteret on Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Vikings' way against Havelock as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

James Robinson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rooke Knittle, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Coleton Newbern, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

D.H. Conley's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for J.H. Rose, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
