Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lowell). They breezed past the Lawrence Lancers to the tune of 49-16 on Friday. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Lancers are ranked 167th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lowell's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Lawrence, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lowell will take on North Andover at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Raiders will be up against the Scarlet Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lawrence, they will square off against Chelmsford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
