Basketball Recap: Lourdes Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lourdes Academy needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Sophia Sandoval. Lourdes Academy simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Sunset Knights 53-23 thanks in part to Sandoval, who posted 21 points. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lourdes Academy's points.

Another player making a difference was Michelle Falero, who put up nine points. That's the most points she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Lourdes Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Sunset, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Lourdes Academy has already played their next contest, a 73-20 loss against Miami on the 18th. Sunset has also already played their next matchup (against TERRA Environmental), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
