Baseball Game Preview: Circleville Tigers vs. Teays Valley Vikings

The Circleville Tigers will face off against the Teays Valley Vikings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Circleville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Hillsboro on Friday. The Tigers blew past the Indians 11-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Teays Valley had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Chieftains with a sharp 10-1 win. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly nine runs.

Teays Valley pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Circleville, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Circleville couldn't quite finish off Teays Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
