Baseball Game Preview: Lamar Raiders vs. Leake Academy Rebels

For the second straight game, Lamar will face off against Leake Academy. The Raiders will head out to take on the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Lamar is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Leake Academy on Tuesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost four in a row.

For Leake Academy's part, Caden Stovall tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tanner Walsworth, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Leake Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lamar, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5-2.
