Baseball Recap: Oley Valley Wins Going Away Against Pottsgrove

Oley Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Pottsgrove on Monday. Oley Valley was the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over Pottsgrove. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Lynx this season.

Chase Kegerise was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Kegerise was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Gryffin Cappellano was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Russell Leach, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Oley Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pottsgrove only posted a batting average of .083.

Oley Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Pottsgrove, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Oley Valley and Pottsgrove will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Oley Valley will challenge rival Hamburg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Pottsgrove is set to square off against their familiar foe Pottstown at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
