Baseball Recap: Fernley Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Fernley's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wooster Colts on Saturday. The Vaqueros haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Hayden Lyon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March of 2024.

Fernley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Wooster, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Fernley is taking a road trip to face off against South Tahoe at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wooster, they will host Dayton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
