Basketball Recap: Alexander Central's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

If Alexander Central was feeling good fresh off their 77-53 takedown of East Burke last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 94-75 to the Davie County War Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the War Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Loss or not, Alexander Central got some senior leadership from Noah VanBeurden and Jahmir Miller. VanBeurden posted 24 points, while Miller earned 16 points and six rebounds. The matchup was VanBeurden's third in a row with at least 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Flowers, who scored 11 points and seven boards.

Leading Davie County to victory were Noah Dulin and Ethan Driver. Dulin shot 53% from the field en route to 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Driver dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave Driver a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Draeton Nance, who put up ten points and seven assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Alexander Central fell to 2-1. As for Davie County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
