Preview: Roncalli Royals vs. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans
Roncalli is 10-0 against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Roncalli Royals will head out on the road to challenge the Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Roncalli focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Roncalli came up short against Franklin Community and fell 66-53. Roncalli has not had much luck with Franklin Community recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Roncalli had strong showings from Elliot Leffler, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, and Sara Rosko, who scored 13 points. Rosko continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Claire Lindsey was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged Cathedral out 45-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Indianapolis Bishop Chatard has posted yet this season.
Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Duncan led the charge by scoring ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Alyx Kendall, who scored nine points.
Roncalli has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Roncalli hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.7 points per game. It's a different story for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, though, as they've been averaging only 52.7 points per game.
