Softball Recap: Chatham Charter Knights vs. Providence Grove Patriots
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Chatham Charter's offense. They came up short against the Providence Grove Patriots on Wednesday, falling 18-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on March 3rd.
This is the second loss in a row for Chatham Charter and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Providence Grove, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chatham Charter will host North Moore at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chatham Charter has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Providence Grove, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. Trinity has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.88 runs per game on average), something Providence Grove will no doubt try to take advantage of.
