Softball Game Preview: Everett Warriors vs. Southern Huntingdon County Rockets

The Everett Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Everett's win against Southern Fulton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Indians 10-9. Ten seems to be a good number for the Warriors as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Southern Huntingdon County came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Blue Pirates a 23-0 shutout. Considering the Rockets have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Southern Huntingdon County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Everett, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Everett might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Southern Huntingdon County when the teams last played back in March. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
