Basketball Game Preview: Middle Park Panthers vs. Moffat County Bulldogs

Middle Park and Moffat County are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Middle Park Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Moffat County Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Middle Park has four straight victories, Moffat County has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Middle Park will head into Tuesday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big back in December of 2024 (they won by 31) and last Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over Steamboat Springs. The 44-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Joey Gagnon was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Weston Wiedel, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Moffat County played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 61-17 defeat at the hands of Grand Junction. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

Moffat County's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Middle Park, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
