Basketball Game Preview: Bear Grass Charter Bears vs. Lejeune Devil Pups

Bear Grass Charter hasn't had much luck against Lejeune recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bear Grass Charter Bears are taking a road trip to square off against the Lejeune Devil Pups at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Bear Grass Charter is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since December 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Hobgood Charter by a score of 61-58.

Meanwhile, Lejeune had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 58-54 W against the Panthers.

Bear Grass Charter better keep an eye on Devon Charles. He was instrumental in Lejeune's win, putting up 22 points and eight boards. Charles' big performance that afternoon made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Shea, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Lejeune smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests.

Bear Grass Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Lejeune, their record is now 15-6.

Bear Grass Charter suffered a grim 62-40 defeat to Lejeune when the teams last played back in November of 2017. Thankfully for Bear Grass Charter, Karee Smith (who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
