            It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Pikeville ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  9-7  win over the Letcher County Central Cougars / Lady Cougars. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
Pikeville let  Bradyn Hall and  Bash Ryan run wild. Hall  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  triple,  and one  run, while  Ryan  went 1-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  Hall has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gage Burgett, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Pikeville was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .412. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.

Pikeville's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Letcher County Central, they moved to 3-2 with that  loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pikeville will host Johnson Central  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Letcher County Central, they will be playing at home against Leslie County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Leslie County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  match than the last.
