Softball Recap: LAMP's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

LAMP's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Carver Montgomery Wolverines with a sharp 10-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Tigers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Caroline Russell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Alice Vickers was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Arin Sturdivant, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

LAMP's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-15. As for Carver Montgomery, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

LAMP does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carver Montgomery, they will challenge Enterprise at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
