Basketball Recap: Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Beats Mccool Junction for Their Third Straight Win

If McCool Junction wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, they should've done a better job of containing Hayley Sliva. The Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles managed a 45-40 win over the McCool Junction Mustangs on Monday thanks in part to Sliva, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Campbell Bohling was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played.

McCool Junction lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Claire Brugger, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Betka, who posted five points and five steals.

The victory (which was Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's third in a row) raised their record to 9-9. As for McCool Junction, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley has already played their next matchup, a 37-30 win against Dorchester on the 30th. As for McCool Junction, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-28 defeat against Nebraska Lutheran on the 30th.
