Basketball Recap: Charlotte Comes Up Short

Charlotte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 61-24 loss at the hands of the Eaton Rapids Greyhounds. The Orioles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.

Despite the loss, Charlotte saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Silvas posted nine points. What's more, Silvas also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024.

Charlotte's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Eaton Rapids, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlotte will face off against Eastern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eaton Rapids, they and Okemos will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
