Volleyball Recap: Jocelyn Lopez Key Part of Team Effort in Lightning Win

Lehigh won the last time they faced East Lee County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lightning blew past the Jaguars 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lehigh was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-13, 25-12.

Lehigh's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jocelyn Lopez, who had eight aces and three digs. Those eight aces gave Lopez a new career-high. Jayda Fleming was another key player, getting nine kills, six digs, and two aces.

Lehigh's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for East Lee County, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lehigh will venture away from home to take on Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Lee County, they will challenge Gateway at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
