Basketball Recap: Newkirk Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Newkirk Tigers came up short against the Chelsea Dragons and fell 33-25. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Dragons are ranked 117th).

Newkirk has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Chelsea, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Chelsea will venture away from home to square off against Caney Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
