York is 10-0 against Proviso West since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The York Dukes just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Proviso West Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

York is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Stevenson on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. York came up short against Stevenson, falling 44-23. The match marked the Dukes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Proviso West took a blow against Downers Grove North on Tuesday, falling 69-16. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Trojans are ranked 63rd).

Proviso West has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for York, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-16.

Everything came up roses for York against Proviso West when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-9 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for York since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
